I got the idea in my head of a Bayou fisherman being out in the Gulf fishing for several days and missing his sweetheart. The lyrics just flowed from that and Marco already had a melody line just waiting for lyrics; so between the two of us came 'My Sweet Cherie'. A VERY good Creole tune I think!" Ron Martin
