I WISH IT WOULD RAIN Nanci Griffith Oh, I wish it would rain And wash my face clean I want to find some dark cloud to hide in here Oh, love in a memory Sparkled like diamonds When the diamonds fall they burn like tears When the diamonds fall they burn like tears Once I had a love from Carolina pines Who only cared for me I wanna find that love of twenty-two Here at thirty-three I've got a heart on my right and one on my left Neither suits my needs No, the one I love lives a-way out West And he never will need me So, I wish it would rain And wash my face clean I want to find some dark cloud to hide in here Oh, love in a memory Sparkled like diamonds When the diamonds fall they burn like tears When the diamonds fall they burn like tears I'm gonna pack up my two step shoes And head for the Gulf Coast plains I wanna walk the streets of my own hometown Where everybody knows my name I wanna ride the waves down in Galveston When the hurricanes blow in 'cause that Gulf Coast water tastes sweet as wine When your heart's rollin' home in the wind And I wish it would rain And wash my face clean I want to find some dark cloud to hide in here Oh, love in a memory Sparkled like diamonds When the diamonds fall they burn like tears When the diamonds fall they burn like tears When the diamonds fall, darlin', they burn like tears © Irving Music, Inc. I’VE GOT A FAVOURITE NEW COUNTRY ROCK ALBUM

"I must confess I've been out of the loop for awhile now working on several projects and this one passed me by the first time. In clearing up my usually cluttered desk I came across a CD I hadn't yet given a listen to. I'm glad I have now done so. 'Bordertown' by the Piedmont Brothers Band is an absolute delight to behold. Imagine if Dillard & Clark mk II (Dillard, Clark, Leadon, Jackson, Washburn and Corneal) had stayed together and recorded an album. 'Bordertown' might just be what it could have sounded like. Great pickin''n'singin'all round and impressive songwriting. Nice to hear musicians and singers today who understand and respect what went before them and refine it through their own experience and appreciation without damaging the goods. Nice work PBB. 'Bordertown' is my new favourite country rock album".

He is the author with Chris Hillman of 'Hot Burritos: The True Story Of The Flying Burrito Brothers' (Jawbone, 2008), the first ever biography of the band.
